Painting ceilings, walls

Painting ceiling
basic_pic5.jpg
  • Use a narrow brush to cut in 3” strips of paint along the ceiling section. Paint ceiling using a roller handle extension. Start at the corner furthest from the entry door.

  • Paint the small section 3 x 3 feet in diagonal (zigzag) strokes. Distribute it evenly with back and forth strokes. Feather the edges by lifting the roller at the end of each sweep.
Painting wall
basic_pic6.jpg
  • Using a narrow brush, cut in a 2 “ strips along the edges (where the wall meets the ceiling or wood work).

  • Start with upper right hand corner if you are right handed, or start with the upper left hand corner if you are left handed to avoid accidental leaning on to the wet wall.

  • Paint wall in 2’ x 4’ section. Make the initial diagonal stroke from the bottom of the section (zigzag) to avoid paint from dripping. (Follow the roller painting methods)

  • Next cut in and roll the section underneath (2) . Continue painting adjacent wall sections, cutting in and rolling the top sections before the bottom sections. Roll all finish strokes towards the floor.
