Surface Preparation
Preparation should be properly carried out for all surfaces before application to ensure that they are dry and clean of all loose material, grease, wax or other contaminants. Wooden Substrate Clean the substrate, then smooth down by sanding and dust off before application of paint. Masonry Substrate Make good surface defects and ensure that the substrate is completely dry and clean before application. Ferrous Substrate Remove mill scale and corrosion by manual or mechanical cleaning.
System Information
New and bare work must be primed with the appropriate primer. Wooden Substrate Primer: 1 coat of Sissons Aluminium Wood Primer. Undercoat: 1 coat of Sissons Universal Undercoat. Finish: 2 coats of Sissons Tungolac Gloss Paint. Masonry Substrate Primer: 1 coat of Sissons Alkali Resisting D Primer. Undercoat: 1 coat of Sissons Universal Undercoat. Finish: 2 coats of Sissons Tungolac Gloss Paint. Mild Steel Substrate Primer: 1 coat of Sissons Zinc Chromate Primer. Undercoat: 1 coat of Sissons Universal Undercoat. Finish: 2 coats of Sissons Tungolac Gloss Paint. Galvanized Iron or Aluminium Primer: 1 coat of Sissons Self Etch Primer. Undercoat: 1 coat of Sissons Universal Undercoat. Finish: 2 coats of Sissons Tungolac Gloss Paint.
Directions for Use
Thinning: Mineral turpentine or white spirit if needed. Application: Tungolac should be stirred thoroughly before use and applied over a good hard drying undercoat such as Sissons Universal Undercoat. Tungolac is suitable for application by brush or spray. Drying time: Approximately 8 hours. Number of coats: For extra durability 2 coats may be applied. Coverage: Approximately 17 sq. metres per litre. Cleaning Up: Clean with mineral turpentine or white spirit immediately after use.
